Some Wakeboarders like to ride on a shorter Wakeboard because shorter boards are slow and
consume more energy to push through water due to less surface area on water, slower it will move across the
surface. Secondly it is easier to spin in the air across the wake. The drawback of shorter Wakeboard is that
it is hard to land on the surface of water which causes you dig into the water and rest of face goes in too.
Wakeboard riders usually know the benefit of too long or too small for them according to size
charts because smaller Wakeboards have different benefit and specification as compare to longer Wakeboard. They are
different in style and riding. Sizing down will make Wakeboard lighter and easy to spin faster and seem more
aggressive but landings do suffer due to the smaller surface area.
On the contrary, longer Wakeboards are easy to learn and to ride. They are a bit heavier than
the shorter Wakeboards which means you work hard against the weight in the air. Longer Wakeboards are preferable
for the beginners and for learner because you can get more control on it while learning. The surface area of longer
Wakeboard will allow you to float on the surface of the water with more smoothness, softness and quickly as well.
Wakeboard with light weight give more fun and you can move fast. Light weight Wakeboards are made for easy
maneuvering. Manufacturers are constantly trying to create new technology and materials to make light weight
Wakeboards. Developing super light weight Wakeboard is just similar to trading your Honda City for a BMW.
